Construction of Las Vegas Stadium is expected to hit a milestone next week, as a topping out ceremony is scheduled to take place Monday.
Set to be complete next July, the $1.9 billion Las Vegas Stadium will be the home of the relocating Oakland Raiders and UNLV football. The ongoing construction process for the facility is progressing toward the topping off ceremony, which is scheduled for Monday morning. It will represent a notable milestone in the construction process, as a topping off ceremony is traditionally held when the last steel beam is put into place on a structure.
More from the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Along with hosting the Raiders and UNLV, Las Vegas Stadium is expected to be a draw for major events. Within college football circles, its appeal is already evident, as it will be the new home of the Las Vegas Bowl and was announced last week as the host of the Pac-12 Championship Game in 2020 and 2021. It should also land plenty of large-scale, non-football events, including concerts.
