As they plan for the upcoming facility, the Oakland Raiders are pitching four off-site Las Vegas Stadium parking options.
Currently under construction at a site west of Mandalay Bay, the $1.8 billion, 65,000-seat Las Vegas Stadium is expected open for the relocating Raiders in 2020. Leading up to the venue’s opening, the Raiders and local officials are working to determine site options that can accommodate stadium event parking.
On September 5, the Clark County Commission is expected to discuss a plan from the team. More details about the parking plans are expected to emerge at a later date, but a new draft report from Kimley-Horn and Associates lists four off-site locations that could accommodate stadium event parking. More from the Las Vegas Review-Journal:
-The Orleans, 3,700 to 4,625 spaces. The Raiders and Boyd Gaming Corp. have reached an agreement for the team to use the northern end of the hotel-casino property for parking.
-The northeast corner of Arville Street and Tropicana Avenue, 1,025 to 1,175 spaces. The former Southwest Gas facility is on 9.4 acres between Arville and Wynn Road.
-The southwest corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Arby Avenue, 2,000 to 2,500 spaces. The 20-acre site is along Windy Street and Las Vegas Boulevard.
-The southwest corner of Las Vegas Boulevard and Blue Diamond Road, 2,900 to 3,625 spaces. The 29-acre site is near Shelbourne Avenue and Blue Diamond Road.
In addition to the Raiders, the stadium is set to be used by UNLV’s football program. Major outside events are also anticipated for the stadium down the road, perhaps including a potential future Super Bowl.
