Illinois Unveils Memorial Stadium Student Patio Deck

Illinois Memorial Stadium Student Patio Deck

The University of Illinois has unveiled a new student patio deck at Memorial Stadium, an amenity that will be located in the Northeast Tower.

The area will include concessions point of sale, high top tables with umbrellas, outdoor couches and chairs for socializing and TVs showing games across the country.

In a recent gameday experience survey of all fans, both ticket holders and those who don’t attend Illinois football games, the desire for patio decks and social spaces ranked high among the fans between the ages 18-34. It was the most desired incentive for student ticket purchasers.

With the opening of the new Henry Dale and Betty Smith Football Center and the move of the football coaches’ offices, the patio in the Northeast Tower became available for additional student gameday programming and the student patio deck.

The wall separating the North End Zone concourse and the patio has been removed, allowing for direct access from student seating. The Northeast Patio Deck is open to all students who purchase tickets for the 2019 Fighting Illini football season; no additional ticket is needed for entry.

The deck is yet another amenity added to the student section this season, including the sale of beer in the general stands, which was announced in April.

ILLINI PRIDE PASS: University of Illinois students can purchase season tickets for both football and men’s basketball seasons for just $125. The pass gives access to all home games at Memorial Stadium and State Farm Center. All purchasers of the Illini Pride Pass will have membership in Illini Pride and Block I and receive benefits of exclusive gear, events and experiences, including a chance to travel on road trips during the football and men’s basketball seasons.
