49ers hit the road after stadium, practice facility shut down

The San Francisco 49ers (NFL) will play their Weeks 13 and 14 home games against the Buffalo Bills and Washington Football Team at State Farm Stadium in Arizona after Santa Clara County officials halted games or practices.

The team announced in a press statement that it would be announcing information about practices shortly, but don’t look for anything happening at the team’s practice facility. The order from Santa Clara County also calls for individuals to quarantine for 14 days any time they travel more than 150 miles, so it’s looking like the 49ers will be spending at least a few weeks on the road. Other municipalities, including Oakland and San Diego, offered to host the 49ers games, but in the end the 49ers decided on Phoenix.

The Bills game is scheduled for Dec. 7 and Washington for Dec. 13.
