As it continues to explore a major renovation to Reser Stadium, Oregon State University has issued a request for design and construction proposals.
OSU is evaluating the possibility of an elaborate overhaul to Reser Stadium that would address its aging west side. In what OSU athletics officials reportedly estimate will be a $145 million to $175 million project, the plan could result in new premium areas, seating upgrades, improved and new concession and restroom facilities, a visitor’s locker room, and more.
For it latest step in the planning process, OSU issued a new RFP on Monday, setting a response deadline of February 20. While this marks an early step in the process, it is nonetheless a key part of OSU’s ongoing evaluation of what would be a major facilities project. More from the Corvallis Gazette-Times:
If awarded, the initial work associated with design-build services will be for design and pre-construction services only, said Scott Barnes, OSU athletic director and vice president of intercollegiate athletics.
“We are excited about this next step in evaluating the feasibility of completing Reser Stadium,” Barnes said. “We are seeking proposals from the nation’s best firms as it regards design, constructability reviews, concepts for value engineering, estimating, phasing the project’s completion and pricing.”
Seeking design-build proposals is but one step in the evaluation process of completing Reser Stadium, Barnes said.
“OSU officials are engaged actively in a comprehensive feasibility analysis to complete Reser Stadium into a best-in-class, year-round university facility. Our goal is to increase fan engagement, support all OSU athletics programs, and advance student success, faculty excellence, research and experiential learning opportunities at Oregon State University,” Barnes said.
Future improvements to Reser Stadium could compliment other renovation work completed at the facility in recent years, including the addition of the Terrace in 2016.
