During its home opener on Saturday, September 8, LSU will unveil The Chute–a new premium area at Tiger Stadium that serves beer.
The Chute will be situated between gates 23 and 28 on Tiger Stadium’s south side, and will be open to fans age 21 or older who have a game ticket. Along with having the opportunity to purchase beer in the space, fans will be able to take in the action on a large HD videoboard and several smaller HD television screens. Details on The Chute were announced by LSU in a press release on Wednesday.
“This will be a great addition for Tiger Stadium and for our fan experience,” LSU Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva said in the press release.
Admission to The Chute comes at a price tag of $20 per person, and includes two beverages. Additional drinks can be purchased for $6 in the premium area, while food service will come from Burgersmith. Water and soft drinks will be available as well.
In accordance with Southeastern Conference policy, all beer must be consumed within The Chute. With a name that is in honor of the tunnel used to walk to and from Tiger Stadium’s lockerroom, The Chute will offer a capacity of roughly 1,250 fans. It will open two-and-a-half hours prior to kickoff and close at the start of the fourth quarter. This is not the first time in recent years that LSU has added a premium area to Tiger Stadium, as the university debuted the Skyline Club in 2017.
