Arizona Stadium Upgrades Underway

Arizona Stadium

Upgrades to Arizona Stadium are getting underway, as the University of Arizona is moving forward with an overhaul to the facility’s east side.

The university is proceeding with an elaborate project, with Arizona Stadium renovations included in a roughly $66-million financing package for improvements to various athletic facilities. Multiple athletic programs will be affected in the process, including football, which will see improvements to Arizona Stadium.

The work will be concentrated on the east side, and lead to changes to the fan experience, including improvements to areas such as concessions, restrooms, and seating. More from Arizona Public Media:

“The first shot out of the box that we want to make sure that people recognize is that we’re doing things that directly benefit the student,” said Steve Kozachik, associate director of athletics at the University of Arizona.

The east side of the football stadium, where the student section is located, is receiving upgraded seats, concessions and restrooms.

Arizona Stadium originally opened in 1928.
