This season will certainly be one of huge changes for the Jacksonville Jaguars (NFL): Besides a new logo/branding and stadium changes, the name of the team’s home will change after a bank acquisition: EverBank Field will become TIAA Bank Field.
The stadium has been known by a variety of names — Alltel Stadium, Jacksonville Municipal Stadium — and the latest name comes after New York-based TIAA acquired Jacksonville-based EverBank Financial Corp. in 2017.
“We’re excited for our relationship with EverBank to not only continue, but grow under the new name of TIAA Bank,” Jaguars President Mark Lamping said in a press statement. “They have been a fantastic corporate partner for many years, sharing our mutual commitment to the betterment of the First Coast community. We’re grateful for their long-term commitment to the Jaguars and to the city of Jacksonville.”
