M&T Bank Stadium Renovations Continue

Construction has resumed at M&T Bank Stadium, as the Baltimore Ravens have kicked off the latest phase of renovations to the facility.

Prior to the 2017 season, the Ravens undertook the first stage in a multi-phase renovation to M&T Bank Stadium. During that portion of the project, the Ravens upgraded the stadium’s video displays, highlighted by the installation of new videoboards and LED ribbons. While those improvements made their mark in 2017, the Ravens are not finished with the renovations to M&T Bank Stadium and are now shifting their focus to other areas of the facility.

The team is planning to install new escalators at the stadium, and several concrete ramps have been removed as part of this process. Overall, the project will lead to a total of 16 new escalators at the stadium—some will be ready in 2018, with the remaining escalators installed prior to the 2019 campaign. Continuing with the effort to improve access to the highest level of the facility, the Ravens are also adding new elevators.

Those are not the only improvements that are on tap at M&T Bank Stadium, as the Ravens plan to reshape several other aspects of the fan experience. Part of the renovation project calls for the installation of corner suites in the facility’s upper level. All of the suites will feature a 4K ultra-high definition videoboard, measuring at 33 feet wide by 44 feet high.

Right now, it is expected that the corner suites will be completed in phases. The suites on the stadium’s west side are expected to be finished in 2018, followed by the east side suites in 2019.

In another, more immediate, upgrade that involves technology, a new sound system will be installed at the stadium. That system is slated to be in place for the 2018 season.

Beyond those improvements, the Ravens are also putting a heavy emphasis on improving M&T Bank Stadium’s club level. This will involve upgrades to the bar, lounge, concessions, and restrooms in the area. That component of the project is expected to be completed in 2019, along with improvements to the stadium’s kitchen facilities.

Overall, the three-year, $120-million renovation should enhance multiple areas of M&T Bank Stadium. The Ravens will work over the next few years to improve the facility that they have called home since 1998, and this project will be worth monitoring as it unfolds well into 2019.
