Tennessee Titans Select New Concessionaires

Nissan Stadium

The Tennessee Titans have selected Legends Hospitality and Levy to oversee the concessions at Nissan Stadium, an arrangement that begins this year.

As part of the agreement, the companies will handle operations in separate levels of Nissan Stadium. Legends Hospitality has been selected to run the concession operations in the non-premium areas of the facility. Levy, meanwhile, will take on the task of running the food and beverage operations in the premium areas, and will also handle catering for non-event days at Nissan Stadium.

The Titans previously had an agreement with Aramark that was not set to expire until 2024. However, the two sides became entangled in a dispute that led to the contract being terminated, with issues over the quality of service at Nissan Stadium becoming a major sticking point. More from The Tennessean:

Regular complaints about Nissan Stadium’s concessions services led the Titans to issue Aramark a termination notice March 1, arguing the company did not live up to standards outlined in their contract. Aramark, which pointed the finger at the Titans for service shortcomings, responded by suing the Titans on March 31.

In court, Aramark rejected the organization’s claims and argued the team did not have the right to end the contract prematurely. A Nashville judge two weeks ago denied the company’s request for a temporary injunction that would have allowed it to continue working at the stadium. Both sides have agreed to arbitration proceedings.

For the first two years of their 2014 agreement, NFL fan surveys ranked Nissan Stadium near the bottom in food quality. According to the Titans, Aramark also jeopardized the Titans’ beer permit with Metro at the end of 2014 and beginning of 2015 for selling alcohol to minors. Underwood put the company on notice after a July 3, 2015, soccer match at Nissan Stadium between the U.S. national team and Guatemala for which about 100 of Aramark’s 300 employees did not show up, causing long lines throughout the game. The episode garnered national attention as a fiasco.

The Titans formally revealed their new arrangement with Legends Hospitality and Levy on Thursday. The Tennessean reports that the two companies have already started to set up operations at Nissan Stadium, and will work an event at the facility next week.
