It’s not been officially announced, but multiple reports have Hard Rock Stadium as the name of the Miami Dolphins and the University of Miami football stadium after a naming-rights sale.
The new moniker is expected to be officially unveiled tomorrow.
The stadium has been known as Dolphin Stadium, Joe Robbie Stadium, Pro Player Park, Pro Player Stadium, Land Shark Stadium and Sun Life Stadium since its opening 29 years ago. The stadium is in the midst of a $500-million renovation and will host the 2020 Super Bowl.
Hard Rock International is headquartered in Orlando and runs casinos and hotels across the world, including the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Fla.
The name will first be used on Sept. 1, as the renovated stadium hosts a Dolphins-Titans exhibition game.
